The programme
Is the MSc open for applications?
Not yet. The programme is in development. Degree titles, awarding arrangements and authorisations will be confirmed before recruitment begins. You can register your interest now.
Who awards the degree?
The degree would be awarded by a Finnish partner university. We will name the university once the agreements are signed and we have permission to do so. Breathing Fish University is the delivery partner and does not award degrees itself.
How long does it take?
The MSc is 120 ECTS, about 3,240 hours of study. The first cohort is planned to start in January 2028, with first graduates planned for early 2030. Section 1 courses are planned from September 2027.
Can I start before the degree begins?
Yes, that is the plan. Section 1 modules are planned as stand-alone studies from September 2027, and the credits would count towards the degree through the university’s recognition process, so you would not repeat them.
Is this a trading course?
No. It is academic education about how financial markets and trading businesses work and are managed. It is not investment advice, a trading signals service or a brokerage licence. Practical trading happens only in a simulated lab.
Admissions and fees
What are the entry requirements?
The proposed rule is a relevant degree plus normally two years’ relevant work experience after it by the start of term, English language evidence and a motivation statement. The university sets the final criteria and decides every admission. See Admissions.
I am an EU/EEA citizen. Can I join?
Not this fee-paying programme. EU/EEA citizens and people with equivalent status are handled directly by the university through its normal admissions.
How much does it cost?
Fees will be published in the billing currency before applications open, with the deposit, payment schedule and refund terms. All tuition is paid to Breathing Fish University. There is no application fee.
Can my employer pay?
Yes, employer-commissioned cohorts are planned. Employers would see cohort-level progress and invoices; individual progress only with each student’s consent.
Will the degree be recognised in the UAE?
UAE recognition of online foreign degrees follows the Ministry of Education’s conditional recognition rules. Graduates may face equivalency issues for UAE government employment. Please consider this if you plan to work in the UAE public sector.
Studying and exams
Do I need to travel?
Only for exams, which are in person at regional centres such as Dubai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai. Everything else is online.
Which AI assistant do I need?
Any app that supports the Model Context Protocol, such as Claude or ChatGPT, or apps that run other models. You do not need one at all: the web portal covers every essential function. See Connect your AI assistant.
Can I use AI for my assignments?
Only as the university’s academic integrity rules allow for each assignment. Typically AI may explain concepts but the work must be your own. You make an AI-use declaration with each submission.
Can I write my thesis for my employer?
Yes, where possible. The thesis can address a real problem set by your employer, while meeting the university’s academic standards. Confidential employer material is protected.
